The B-Line

Last weekend, Andy and I finally decided to go to The B-Line Restaurant. This was the first group-on coupon I had bought. The reason we used it is because it was going to expire this month.

We've walked by The B-Line many times. It was always busy and the food always smelled great! The day we went in was no different. Andy and I had a hard time deciding what to get. They had a huge menu that Pastas, Salads, Sandwiches, Burros, Tacos, and Quesadillas. They also had a nice selection of drinks and desserts.

After a few minutes, Andy decided to order the Italian Sausage & Peppers Sandwich, and I ordered Fish Tacos. Andy also got a beer with his meal. Since it took us too so long to decide what we wanted to eat, we missed the happy hour by 2 minutes!! That'll teach us. :)

The food came out pretty quickly even though there were many people in the restaurant. The food was hot and tasted really fresh.

The fish tacos had pickled cabbage, blackened mahi mahi, and jack cheese on corn tortillas. The rice and pinto beans were delicious too. The rice was nicely cooked and the beans weren't all smashed up like most restaurants.

Andy's sandwich was delicious too. The herb penne rigate was delicious! It was perfectly cooked and coated with just enough sauce. The sausage and roasted peppers were delicious.

I wished we saved some room for dessert. The restaurant had this rotating dessert display that showed a HUGE selection. I saw cheesecakes, tarts, and mousses among other things.

We will definitely be back to the B-Line, and one of those times will definitely have to be just for the desserts.

Venzo's Pizza

Venzo's Pizza

This year I will try a little better with new restaurants. I think one of the things my husband and I really want to do is try out all the pizza places we can find. Granted there are a lot, but Andy and I are up for the challenge. :)

We stumbled onto Venzo's Pizza by accident. We were planning on going to this other Mexican place, but didn't know that they weren't opened on Sundays. Venzo's Pizza caught our attention with the sign near the street that said two slices and a drink for $3.99. To me that didn't seemed bad because most places charge $3.99 for one slice of pizza.

The place itself wasn't heavily decorated nor did it have really bright lighting. I really didn't mind it because I prefer places that are more casual and laid back.

Andy and I decided each to get 2 slices and a drink. We were hoping that it was enough food because we were both starving from a small lunch that day. The slices were just plain cheese and each additional topping was $0.50. We both decided to get pineapple and ham.

While we waited, we watched the two guys at work and perused the menu they had at the counter. One was getting the phone calls and throwing the pizza dough while the other was putting the toppings on. The menu consisted of a lot of things. There was specialty pizzas, salads, and calzones. After 5 minutes or so, one of the guys brought out our pizzas and said that our second slices will come out a little bit later.

I was shocked when they brought the first slices out because they were huge! They had to use two paper plates for the slices. The pizza was delicious. I had ham and pineapple in each bit with plenty of cheese and a delicious crust.

Venzo's was great. I definitely want to come back and try their specialty pizzas and their specials again. Next time, I will stick to one slice only.
