Camping Trip in Arizona

I had my first camping trip since I've been in Tucson. It was super hardcore since it was in a private cabin. :) I don't think I will be sleeping on mother earth quite yet. I really wish I took some pictures of the beautiful scenery that I drove by. It was so different than the view that I see everyday. The other really amazing thing that I saw up in the mountain was snow! It was very soft snow or anything, but it was still on the ground and the reason that it was strange was because it was 60-70 degrees at ground level.

This trip was for with a group of people from work. The weekend did not go too badly at all. I was really expecting it to go not so well due to the fact that I would have been away from Andy for the first time since he moved in and also not knowing these people that well. The only time I've ever really met these people were through some social events that I attended and really these were that great for socializing. This trip really help me get to know these people better and for them to know me. I wasn't super comfortable but I think I showed my true self a bit.

This trip really made me realize that I've grown up a bit since college. I don't really understand anymore why some people drink so much. Is it a way to loosen up and talk more freely? Is it the only way that they can have fun? I saw so much drinking from numerous people that it just made me uncomfortable. I chose not to drink because I didn't want to make a fool of myself nor give people the wrong impression of me. Apparently, by not drinking a lot I did give the impression that I gave people in high school, which was I'm a good little girl that doesn't know anything about the world and all the little boos boos in it. I guess it'll be more fun by surprising these people little by little or see if I can get them to tell me their dirty secrets and pretend to not know exactly what they're talking about.

Wedding Details

I think Andy and I are a good track to getting this wedding thing all planned out. We've got the ceremony and reception pretty much completed. We just need the coordinator and caterer to approve and we just need to pay them.
The flowers are the following:
My bouquet:

Corsages for Mothers and Grandmothers:

Andy's boutonneire will match my bouquet. :)

We've even picked out the cake:

I think it matches the room pretty well. We chose it because it was in our price range and we had picked red roses to be scattered on the tables.

The only things we haven't done is pick out a dress, tux, and ring bands. Hopefully that doesn't take too long.

Ugh...

Man..I don't know what it is, but I have just been feeling crappy lately. It is the new year, shouldn't I be joyous and happy and all that bubbly crap?

I wish I got more sleep over Christmas. I feel like I have come into work these last 2 days completely drained and unmotivated to do anything. It probably doesn't help that I still feel very disconnected from the people I work with. The only real communication I have with anyone here is email, and honestly, that to me is the most pathetic thing in the world.

It's the new years, and of course, there is the traditional new year's resolution. Some people don't set goals, and I am including myself, while others just go waaaay too deep with them. It's one thing to set 1 goal, it's another thing to set 29 goals for the year of 2009. I also don't think it's really necessary to set stupid goals either, such as cooking a side dish for dinner. Don't most dinner have a side dish. Heck..I feel accomplished if I cook dinner. I usually come home so exhausted from work to do anything. To me, a better thing to do is to look back and see what I've accomplished versus what I will accomplish because one generally makes you feel better and one really is just a big downer. So, to end this on a good note, I will list the top 3 accomplishments of 2008:

1.) Set a wedding date
2.) Got a good paying job
3.) Bought a house

Maybe next year I'll remember more.

Happy New Year 2009!

As I thought it would happen, I did not use my blog a lot. A few random updates:

The biggest craft swap that I completed was the 12 day swap. We had to swap a total of 78 items. 25% of which can be bought.

Crocheted Multi-Pocket Bag

Andy and I got a house and I can't wait to move in!!! It's going to be so much closer to work and so much more space for the two of us!
It is 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. It has a large living room and a large kitchen. I can't wait!!

We spent a lot of Christmas break in Las Vegas. It was fun but overall very tiring. I don't think my mom understands that sitting in a car for more than 50% of the time during vacation sucks. It's so tiring and stressful. I hope that changes for future trips because I was not very relaxed coming back to work. I had a great time during New Years in downtown Las Vegas. We saw a bunch of interesting things and had a great time during the New Year's Eve Fremont Street Experience.

Wedding details is finally coming along! It's funny how we've been engaged for over 4 years and we're now getting the details completed. It's about 74 days till we get married!! I can't wait!! :)
